CMA registration: supporting documents required to carry on a trade activity

⚠️ If no representative shown on the Kbis has the required qualification, a commitment to employ a qualified person on a permanent contract must also be provided in addition to the documents below.

1. A qualification directly related to the activity

The qualification must correspond precisely to the trade carried on, as stated in the objects clause. It may be:

CAP (Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle)
BEP
Bac professionnel
Equivalent qualification listed on the RNCP (Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles)

OR a certificate of enrolment + transcript if the qualification has not yet been awarded

2. A certificate of professional experience (if no qualification)

Worth knowing

Requirements can vary from one CMA to another. Some are stricter than others in assessing certificates of experience.

To avoid rejection, it is strongly recommended to check in advance with the relevant CMA that the supporting documents you intend to provide will be accepted.

Without a qualification, the entrepreneur may rely on at least 3 years' experience in the stated activity.

This experience may be gained as:

Employee
Self-employed person
Company director

A sworn statement that the activity has been carried on for 3 years in the EU
AND
Supporting documents (at least one):
- Pay slips
- Employer's certificate
- URSSAF evidence (self-employed)
- Kbis from a previous company
- Tax returns
